Bartholomew Pool
CARTER•DESIGN ASSOCIATES as the Prime Design Consultant in the Design / Build Team led by Chasco Constructors. CDA lead the team of landscape architects and engineers to rebuild Bartholomew District Pool. Bartholomew was fully demolished and rebuilt to meet current Texas Pool Code, IBC, TAS, and other currently applicable codes. BART included three pools and a waterslide situated around and existing large Live Oak tree. One pool is shallow for toddlers with a frog side and zero entry; The second contained a lily pad balancing walk; and the third included lane and a diving board. All three pools programming was based on a public process, current technology, ease of maintenance, and sustainable design. Fabric shade structures help shade the two of the pools. The site included a pump / pool mechanical building, women’s and Men’s shower toilet rooms, a family toilet room, staff office and break area, concession area with picnic tables. All buildings are constructed using local limestone, concrete and metal roofs. The main gate was coordinated through the AIPP program.
